IMSc: Fellow (Pure Mathematics) faculty position

The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, invites applications for regular faculty posts of Fellow and Reader in advertisement 04-R/IMSc/2026, including Pure Mathematics. IMSc is a Department of Atomic Energy institute for research in the theoretical sciences. Faculty do research, advise PhD students and teach in the institute's programmes. It suits mathematicians with postdoctoral experience.

What you'll do

• Do leading-edge research in pure mathematics
• Mentor PhD students
• Take part in administrative work as needed

Who can apply

• Fellow-E (Pay Level 12) needs a PhD plus 2 years of postdoctoral experience, with a maximum age of 35
• Reader-F (Pay Level 13) needs a PhD plus 5 years of postdoctoral experience, with a maximum age of 38
• Age is counted on the last date for applications
• The post is in pure mathematics, theoretical physics, theoretical computer science or computational biology; apply in pure mathematics
